Hello Tammy, Thank you for reading my blog and asking a question. I'm sorry to hear that you are scheduled for gastric bypass surgery. However it is very important for you to understand that if you are burning more calories than you put into your body, you WILL lose weight. No two ways about it! If you're not losing weight it means that this is not curently happening.
Here are my tips for increasing your metabolism (green tea will not work on its own although it is an extra boost): 1) Do some weights - muscle burns calories much faster than other body tissue, so the more muscle you have, the more calories you burn. 2) Fidget constantly. Drum your fingers, swing your legs, tap your feet. You will be surprised how many calories you burn doing this! 3) Exercise. I cannot stress this enough. If your weight loss is serious, as yours is, there is no way of getting around this. Walk, do housework, swim, dance, jog - whatever is right for you. Aim to do at least one hour a day in order to lose as much weight as you want to. 4)My next blog, which i will write tonight, is called 'Getting Started: Losing a Pound', and will explain all you need to know about actually losing weight in detail. It is important to understand how your body works before you can diet properly. Magic drinks and giving up caffeine will not make any difference to you; it is calories that count.
My advice for now: read my new post later today and then leave another comment if you need more advice, if possible with your height, weight and age, even better with your current diet, so i can try to tailor some specific advice for you.
Laura, i don't know why i don't loose. i do pretty much all of that. i NEVER sit still. even i think i'm the only person with a "Rocking"chair as computer chair.grins i sue to spend five days a week at the gym. i did this for months and months. i had my thyroids checked. i just don't understand it. yes, i was eating the wrong foods, so, this is what i hope will fix it. carrots, celery, bananas, oranges and such are now my best friend. i'm trying to be more conciouse of whats going in my mouth. foods taht are low calorie and healthy for me. foods taht boost my metabolism. i hope will work. Books can be soo confusing. Thanks soo much for taking the time to re-ply to me. i will read what your next stuff says and so on. i LOVE to walk the park or my street too. so the excersize is easy for me. we walk two miles almost daily. i was walking a hilly street and slow. so that wasn't helping. flat, fast pace is what i'm doing now. Thanks, Tammy
